It’s been a while since I’ve done an empties post and I’ve collected quite a few empty products since then. So I figured it was about time to round them up, review each one and finally declutter them.
Charles Worthington Style Setter Dry Shampoo
I got this a while back and enjoyed using it whilst it lasted. From memory this dry shampoo was slightly on the more pricy side, which is the only downside to it! It doesn’t leave any white residue; it keeps my hair fresh for a long period of time and it doesn’t have any lingering scent. But I don’t think I’ll repurchase just because of the more expensive price side.
Klorane Dry Shampoo*
I do think this bottle of dry shampoo was sent to me, however I have previously bought these myself so my review isn’t altered by that. I really enjoy these, there is no scent which is too intense, they leave my hair looking very clean and light. Would definitely recommend these if you haven’t tried them before.
Avene Hydrance Agua Gel Cream*
I used this up a while back and it already featured in my Top 10 Summer Essentials. I really enjoyed it for summer and I definitely will look into getting it again when it warms up in Australia. It’s light, hydrating and sinks in very fast. If you’re looking for a light, effective moisturiser definitely give this a go.
Skinfood Gel Cleanser*
The brand Skinfood is a New Zealand one and I really like everything they stand for as they are all natural, cruelty-free and bio-active food based. The scent is a natural one which doesn’t linger and the products gets off all my makeup with ease. I haven’t tested it with waterproof mascara as I never wear it, however everything else comes off with ease. The only thing I wish was different about this product is the packaging, in the sense that a lot of product comes out with very little squeezing. It’s a bit of a waste of product and I would like to have more control with it. Otherwise, it’s a great brand and I’d definitely recommend checking them out.
Loreal Skin Perfection Primer
This primer is very good at filling in pores but it is also quite thick in consistency. I think for under makeup it’s great in order to create a smooth base for your foundation or concealer and it also evens out all wrinkles and lines. However it does feel quite thick and slightly sticky and although that feeling goes away after a little bit, I know some people would really not like that so I think it’s worth mentioning.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Spray
The packaging of this is absolutely gorgeous! I also really like the mist as it’s extremely fine and doesn’t feel wet after you apply it! However I do find that it doesn’t do anything for my makeup or my skin. It has a nice cooling effect on my bare skin however I don’t find that it primes it or hydrates. I also don’t think my makeup lasts any better with it, so overall I don’t think I’d purchase it again.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
This isn’t my first tube of this mascara and I have to say I do really enjoy it. I find it gives me the volume and length that I want, it’s very black and coats the lashes evenly. I know some people don’t like how big the wand is however I don’t mind and find that that’s what helps me coat my lashes well.
Covergirl Clump Crusher Extension LashBlaster
This mascara is great if you want to have very separated eyelashes! The wand on it works hard to ensure you have no clumps and the formula isn’t thick and heavy. I did want to get slightly more length from this mascara, however if you prefer volume this I s a great one to make your lashes extremely separated and even!
Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz
I got this after my Precisely My Brow from Benefit ran out, as I have heard this is extremely good too. And I have to say it is wonderful. It gives you very natural like strokes and is easy to use to fill in the brows. However I think I do prefer the Benefit one, just because I feel like it used less product and lasted longer. With the Brow Wiz I found I had to use the brush more to even it out and so more product was used.
Amuse Pro Eye Brow Pencil
On the other side of the spectrum, I got this when I did my Shop Miss A haul (the $1 website!) This pencil cost $1 and I absolutely loved it! It’s a triangular end and I found it so easy to use. Just apply it and then run the brush over it once and you are good to go! If you’re going to try anything from Shop Miss A I definitely recommend getting this! Mine was in the shade Ash Blonde.
Benefit Gimme Brow
Originally I got this in a kit and it was my first exposure to the Benefit brow range. And I have to say I am a big fan of this. I really like how small the wand is as my eyebrows are quite think so it works extremely well. I have already repurchased however I got it two shades darker (in shade 3) as I did find shade 1 extremely light for me.
Kat Von D Ink Liner
Although I don’t agree with how this brand has been using it’s platform lately, I had this prior to that happening so I thought I’d still include it. The product itself is great. It’s a very intense break, it doesn’t bleed and is easy to use. It lasts well and overall a good experience. However I don’t think I would repurchase just because of how the brand has recently been acting and I wouldn’t want to support such a brand.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I’ve used this concealer for years and I have to say I am still a big fan. Although it doesn’t give any kind of intense, high coverage it is brightening and really does wake up my under eye area. I love wearing this when I wear my glasses (which are black rimmed) as I find it’d very light and make my eye not look heavy as some other concealers do. If you’re after just a little brightness then I definitely recommend this!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
I can tell you straight away I will be getting another tube of this. It’s light and good coverage for under the eyes (with or without glasses) and it covers any other spots you may have! Great coverage and easy to work with, so if you haven’t yet tried it, I definitely say go for it!
And those are all of my latest empties! What have you used up fully recently? Have you tried any of these before? Let me know in the comments below!
Love,
Sofia

I really enjoy Rimmel Wake Me UP concealer as well, light coverage but brightens up my under eye areas so well. I need to revisit Klorane Dry Shampoo, I remember it making my hair feel like straw.

I always love reading about empties because it shows that the person actually loves using. I’ve heard so many great things about dry shampoos. I need to try it out some day! It’s always nice to see a brand standing for natural and cruelty-free practices. Too Faced’ mascara name is great! Thanks for sharing these faves!

I love empties posts more than hauls as you actually get a feel for what someone has actually liked! I’ve got to be the only person not to have tried Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer so that’s definitely on the list!

Avene’s gel moisturiser sounds so fabulous; I’m currently using a hydrating gel cream moisturiser from Darphin right now and LOVING it, so it’s definitely got me hooked on gel cream moisturisers haha 🙂 Hope you’re having a lovely week so far!

I love Rimmel wake me up concealer – I bought it a couple of months ago and have been using it each day every since up until… I lost it in the house. Seriously, can’t find it! I have to repurchase it because it’s really good and maches my tone perfectly. What a great idea for a post!

The brow pencil sounds good. I’m looking for a new one! I love a good dry shampoo, but like you I probably won’t spend a lot on dry shampoo as long as there is another great brand that does a good job for less!

Great, honest reviews here! What did KVD do? I think I missed so much while I was on my “digital” break. Need to research right after writing this comment. I also loved Gimme Brow; I loved it for easy, everyday makeup. I need to try the concealers you’ve mentioned! xx
