A few weeks ago I was kindly sent the Peter Thomas Roth face mask kit* to trial out. Previously I haven’t ever tried any of the products from Peter Thomas Roth so I was very excited to give these a go as I have heard so many amazing things about their range of face masks!
The kit itself comes with six of the Peter Thomas Roth most popular masks each in a travel mini size of 14ML/0.47 FL OZ. Personally I use a lot of face masks so mini trials for me are perfect. However I also think it’s a great way to test a new brand out if you haven’t used any products from them before not only to see how the mask works for you but also what mask has the most wanted effect. Since receiving it I have tried all six of the Peter Thomas Roth masks and I will review them all below.
1) Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask
I went for the mud mask first as I tend to reach for these types of masks the most. This mask is slightly thick, as you would expect, however a little goes a long way and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It is fully black in colour which I like as I enjoy seeing exactly where I have applied the mask. You leave it on for about 10 minutes and then rinse off. Personally I found it a pretty gentle mud mask. My skin was left feeling very clean afterwards however it didn’t get out everything from my pores as much as I would have liked. I think if you have sensitive skin and struggle to find a mud mask that isn’t too intense this would be a great one to look at! For me personally it wasn’t enough, however I did still enjoy how my skin felt afterwards.
2) 24K Gold Mask
This was without a doubt the one mask that both Michael and myself were extremely excited about! The mask is a firming and lifting one which is meant to tighten the skin. From my research, it is one of the best selling masks that Peter Thomas Roth offers. The consistency is light, it spreads far and doesn’t have a strong scent. I have to say I hope it would be more gold coloured but instead it looked more like you had put glitter all over your face. However the effects of the mask were very nice, my skin did feel tighter and more awake after having this on. I think I would however need to try it out for a longer period of time to see if the effects are long lasting before splurging out on the full size of this!
3) Pumpkin Enzyme Mask
This is definitely the mask that has the strongest scent. To be honest it reminds me of a warm, cinnamon filled Christmas. The pumpkin mask is a light exfoliating one which is meant to peel and polish the skin. Personally I always struggle to know if these kinds of masks work as I never seem to see or feel much of a difference. That said the scent is hearty and perfect for a cosy night in.
4) Cucumber Gel Mask
This mask very much reminds me of aloe vera. It’s soothing, cooling and refreshing. I definitely know I’d enjoy using this more in summer rather than in winter especially here in this Australian heat. At the moment my skin is pretty dry and needs more hydration than soothing which is why although it felt refreshing I’d need to wait till summer time before giving a proper review.
5) Rose Stem Cell Mask
As a reconstructing mask, it is also slightly hard to tell how this works after just a few uses. However I do like how this feels very refreshing and leaves my skin feeling tightening and awake. I did like the gel consistency of the mask as it leaves the skin feeling very clean and rejuvenated.
6) Blue Marine Algae Mask
This is another gel consistency mask which is full of hydration and as such, perfect for winter. My dry skin definitely needs this. You barely feel it when it’s on and there is no scent to it. My skin feels very hydrated and soft afterwards and I’ve found this great as a regular mask through the week. I do find that my skin (as it is very on the dry side) maybe needs a more intense mask sometimes too, however once we get into autumn and start to warm up, I think this would be the perfect one.
Overall the mini mask collection from Peter Thomas Roth is great value and an awesome way to trial out the masks before committing to a full size one. I find it’s the best way to know what works for your skin and make sure you get one that works for you!
Have you tried these before?
Love,
Sofia
*Sometimes products are kindly gifted to me. My opinion is always my own and I am not being paid to write any of these reviews.
I love a mini mask collection for trying lots of different types before buying too. The mud mask sounds lovely, I like a gentle cleanse after long journeys!

Yesss it’s so so good!! 😀 xx
I have this set! I like how colorful it is, haha. The gold one definitely felt the most gentle on my skin. And the pumpkin enzyme mask made my skin feel really smooth too (after the stinging). But besides the pumpkin one, it’s kind of hard for me to tell what exactly these masks are doing to my skin.

So so good how colourful the packaging is hey! Yeah fair enough, must be that you don’t need the things in the other masks then! This is why it’s great to try minis before getting the full size! xx
Need to try these!

Yeah it’s definitely a great introduction to the brand and a way to find out if it works with your skin! Xx
I also tend to choose mud masks over other ones, but in this case I was the most interested in the Blue Marine Algae mask, which I think from you review has the most hydrating effect of all. My skin is also very dry and I definitely need more hydration. Great post!
