Last year Mecca launched it’s own range of makeup (for those of you not from Australia, Mecca is like Sephora, they stock more high end brands such as Nars, Hourglass, Urban Decay and so on).
I’ve been excited to try things from the range as the price point is a lot nicer on my wallet than a lot of the other brands that Mecca holds. This bronzer for instance cost AUD $22, which is reasonable compared to say an Hourglass bronzer which are over AUD $70.
I’ll be honest when I say I’m in two minds about this product. On one side I feel that on my tanned skin it looks quite nice (I got shade Medium) and the packaging is really cute. However I do find that it goes on a bit patchy so if you use a bad brush or just go in too intensely, it’s hard to work with. I wouldn’t say it gives a bronze look however, the pigmentation of the actual bronzer on my skin type seems to be more gray than anything and rather gives a bit of a shadow, so in general I prefer to use it as a contour shade when I have less of a tan. And after all that, the light shade that I tried on in the shop seemed to have no pigmentation at all.
I also find it to be quite powdery which is why I think it goes slightly patchy. I guess what I’m saying is that you can make it work if you use a good brush, go in light and blend it in well. However, personally I usually don’t have time to do my makeup so carefully that I have to spend a lot of time on one product. That’s the main reason that I wouldn’t buy this again. However it did just work weirdly with my skin tone, so with yours it might be different.
Have you tried this before? Or what bronzer have you been enjoying lately?
