Perth may be one of the most isolated cities in the world but I have yet to see a place that beats the WA beaches. Last weekend Michael and I went and stayed in Yallingyup and whilst there went for a hike along the coast.
Aside from the fact that I am quite unfit and was breathing incredibly hard at some bits, the views were for sure the main thing that made me breathless. It is absolutely amazing that this type of beautiful nature is so close to where I live and I can truly appreciate that.
It was a 4km (roughly) walk and in that time, we had to get through a little mud and I managed to swallow a fly. Or at least it flew into the mouth and I hope I then chocked it out with all my coughing but who really knows. We were also lucky that it didn’t rain (as it had been for the previous two weeks).
It wasn’t sunset time but it was late in the afternoon so we did get the gorgeous sun views over the ocean. We talked a lot about how crazy it is how vast the ocean is and how much it hosts and does. How it can change so quickly and look so different at different times.
The walk ended on the beach and although it was difficult to walk on the sand in boots, it again reminded me how much I appreciate and how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful country such as Australia.
Where are you from?
