This is definitely a concealer that I feel like most people would have heard of if you follow the beauty industry even a little. It’s always sold out and so when I finally had the chance to pick up the legendary Maybelline Age Rewind concealer, I did!
I got mine in the shade Light as I like a bit of a brighter under eye area. In terms of the packaging I like that it’s a twist but I’m not sure about the sponge. The main reason is that it’s not easy to clean and so bacteria would just multiply like crazy on it. But aside from that I think it distributes the concealer evenly through out the sponge, allowing for easy application. You couldn’t however blend with it as you constantly just get more product on the skin.
The coverage this gives is really good. It definitely helps to hide my dark circles and the veins on the lids too. It does start to dry pretty quickly however and so it can be a little hard to blend. My biggest issue with this concealer however is that it sticks to my dry patches like crazy. It emphasizes the dry skin I have under the eyes and down the cheeks so much and makes it so obvious that it looks ridiculous. Regardless of how much I blend it seems to just cling to these patches.
I’m not sure if I got a dodgy one as I haven’t heard a review like this before but it was definitely a let down. Although it’s lightweight, it is hard to blend and it does stick to my dry skin. So for me, the hype was certainly not worth it.
Have you tried it before? What did you think?
