Two weekends ago, Michael and I packed up the car and went down to Collie, Western Australia for a bit of a winter camping roadtrip.
It was super freezing, as currently in Australia it is winter. However that also meant that there were no bugs and we were allowed to have a fire at our camping spot, which was definitely a huge win for me cause I really don’t like bugs!
We went down on Friday evening after Michael finished work and camped two nights at a beautiful place called Honeymoon Pool, which is quite close to Collie. In the summer you can usually swim there and it’s always super busy and although there were still quite a few people, it was nice that it wasn’t jam-packed with people.
The scenery there was incredible. Every tree and branch was covered in either leaves or moss, giving it a true feeling of a forest. On the second morning it was 2 degrees. Which is why it’s no surprise to me that I spent the whole weekend in my thermals, beanie, scarf and a winter puffer.
We went to a couple of wineries and also went four-wheel driving. This was actually a really great way to really take in all the scenery. We had a fire on each night and on the second we got marshmallows to have over the fire too. This is something I’ve personally never done before but it turned out that Michael has done it more than 30 times! It was super fun though i will say you can;t eat too many of them as they are so sweet!
For the rest of the time, we ate a lot, read out books and just chilled out. It was nice to have a weekend away in nature, even if it was freezing cold!
Have you been on any trips recently?
Love,
Sofia

It looks like an incredible place to visit, although I’d be much too cold with weather like that, haha! Just not used to such cold temperatures being in Brisbane! ๐ You shared some beautiful photos.
Hope you have had a great weekend and are having a nice start to the week!

Haha well it was 2 degrees…. but I would say that two degrees in Australia is very different and much colder than 2 degrees in Europe ๐ xx
