Escaping the city for a night has to be one of the best things you can do to relief stress and re-energise for another full on week.
Last weekend, Michael and I went on a one-night getaway camping trip, just an hour outside of Perth.
We ended up beach fishing, early morning crabbing and fighting of hungry possums, who to this day must be some of the most fearless animals I’ve seen. It was a beautiful night away, the weather was perfect and the sky changed to gorgeous shades of pastel pink and purples. We didn’t catch any fish or crabs but it was still a lot of fun!
The Skincare You Need To Bring
Personally, when I’m only going away for one night, I like to rewind my skincare back to the basics and keep it really simple, so that I can enjoy my time, not worry about it but still feel like I put in a little effort.
Thats why, the first important thing for me, is makeup removal wipes. I purchased these Swissper Cucumber ones a while ago and I have been really enjoying them! They are really good at removing makeup (although they struggle a little with mascara) and they make me feel refreshed. They aren’t oily or sticky in any way and they leave my skin feeling dry.
The next two things which I find crucial is a facial moisturiser and an eye cream. I have been using the Clinique moisture surge range for ages now (read my review of the Overnight Mask from this range here) and I am still a huge fan. I have dry skin and I find this range is very moisturising, it sinks in really well and all my makeup goes well on top. It feels refreshing and leaves my skin feeling very soft and hydrated.
The last bit of skincare which I think is vital, is sunscreen. I don’t think it needs to be anything fancy, I just use one we got for free from a shop, but as long as it has a high SPF it will protect your skin from the rays, which is one of the best things you can do for your skin.
I also think that a hat is a great thing to bring, especially because it can not only save your head but also be an awesome fashion accessory!
Where have you gone away to recently?
